Quick Start
Get your first source audit running in under 5 minutes.
1. Create a project
Log in to app.tenantlift.cloud and click New Project. Give it a name (e.g. "Contoso → Fabrikam migration").
2. Connect the source tenant
On the project page, click Connect Source Tenant then follow the setup wizard:
- Choose Auto Setup (recommended) — this uses the multi-tenant TenantLift app registration.
- Click Grant Admin Consent — you'll be redirected to Microsoft's consent screen. Sign in as a Global Administrator on the source tenant.
- Once consent is granted, TenantLift will verify the service principal and confirm all required permissions are in place.
Tip: TenantLift now requests all permissions (standard + enhanced audit) in a single consent flow. No separate step is needed for the enhanced audit modules.
3. Run the source audit
After connecting, click Run Discovery. TenantLift will scan:
- Recipients (mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution lists)
- Groups (Microsoft 365 groups, security groups)
- Mailbox sizes, OneDrive quotas, calendar stats
- Licence assignments (tenant SKUs + per-user licence details)
- Delegations & permissions (send-as, send-on-behalf, folder permissions)
The discovery runs in the background — you'll receive an email when it's complete.
4. Review the dashboard
Once discovery finishes, the Source Audit dashboard shows:
- Mailbox count, size distribution, delegate map
- Group inventory with membership counts
- Licence audit — SKUs, assigned seats, available seats
- Domain and permission summaries
