Getting Started with TenantLift

TenantLift automates cross-tenant Microsoft 365 migrations end to end — identity mapping, SMTP cutover, calendar rewrite, permissions reconstruction, and more.

What you'll need

  • Global Administrator access on both the source and target Microsoft 365 tenants
  • A modern browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari)
  • A TenantLift account — sign up at app.tenantlift.cloud

How it works

TenantLift connects to both tenants via Microsoft Graph API and Exchange Online, discovers everything in the source tenant, then guides you through an 8-phase migration workflow:

  1. Connect Tenants — grant admin consent for source & target
  2. Discover — auto-discover mailboxes, groups, delegates, OneDrive, licences
  3. Map Users — upload a CSV or auto-match source → target identities
  4. Pre-flight — automated validation (licensing, UPN conflicts, quota)
  5. Coexistence — enable mail forwarding & calendar stubs
  6. Migrate — batch mailbox content copies, calendar rewrites, contacts
  7. Cutover — SMTP cutover, permissions reconstruction, Teams meeting links
  8. Finalise — remove coexistence rules, validate delivery, completion report
